Since I had to skip my participation in June, I recreated July's template for the Der blasse Schimmer "Nachgeschminkt"-Series. It's an easy look where the white eyeliner is the star of the show. We are using Emma Cervin Taupe Eyes & Lips with White Eyeliner makeup look as an inspiration. I don't own a white kajal/liquid lipstick or eyeliner and honestly did not want to buy one for this post, so I used my theater makeup which is more a cream for the face and not as intense as I wished it would be. But nevertheless, it fulfilled its purpose for this look which I do enjoy.
For May we are using the template of easyNeon’s Smudged Lashline & Brown Lips tutorial for the Der blasse Schimmer "Nachgeschminkt"-Series. In my opinion it’s an easy and most of all quick look, perfect for make-up beginners. AND. I failed at it. Completely. Since I am not a huge fan of matte eyeshadow, I don’t own one, that’s why it was hard for me to find similar colors that are not too metallic or shimmery. Even if it doesn’t come near to the original look I am at least liking the overall result and it is something I would recreate in Summer because then I am focusing more on my lips instead of my eyes since they are covered behind sunglasses anyway.
Better late than never I sat down and summed up my February Favorites which mostly feature skincare this time. Some products were items I received in my advent calendar from Niche Beauty along with Christmas presents. Trying new products you would not get your hands on because you are not familiar with the brand, can’t find reviews of the item or just because you don’t have the time to combed through a website is the number one reason for me (besides the fact that I like to spoil myself) to buy such calendars or beauty boxes - remember those times, when Glossybox was still fabulous and not a monthly summary of products you get at the Drugstore? Yeah, I kinda miss it too!
Michael van Clarke - The No. 1 brush
Who would have thought that one of my favorites will include a hair item one day? Me neither, but it’s happening! I’ve skipped applying any hair conditioner for years so my hair thanks me with being tangled and hard to brush through, so when the TangleTeezer arrived on the beauty market, it became my savior. Nevertheless, due to the fact that I carry enough makeup related stuff with me when I am traveling, I wanna save space and don’t wanna bring two brushes with me. I know now why it is called ‘the No. 1 brush’ because it is just fabulous - it detangles and styles your hair, no matter if they are wet or dry (other than the TangleTeezer). The product is handmade and available in three sizes - small (which I own), medium and large. The pins are made from Japanese nylon and super flexible.

Oskia London - Renaissance Hand Cream
A beauty item that I always carry around is a rich hand cream because my hands used to get dry during the day, also because I wash my hands a thousand times in 24 hours (hello Monk!). This one is from Oskia, a brand I’ve never heard from before, smells like rose and chamomile and contains e.g. Shea butter, pomegranate extract to soothe and reduces inflammation. It also softens and nourishes, minimizes the appearance of age spots and dryness. It is made for dry and mature skin and perfect for cold winters plus it’s not sticky. At first I was surprised on how thin the texture is. This one is sitting on my bedside table and it provides my skin all night long.

Elizabeth Arden New York - Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm
I am not only blessed with dry hands, but with dry lips as well - and no, I drink enough water during the day, around four or five liters sound enough for me. This lip cream is designed to strengthen the moisture barrier and to make your lips look healthy again. It is recommended to use it before going to sleep or when needed, but I use it only at night time because Vaseline doesn’t hydrate my lips that long. The repair lip cream from Elizabeth Arden does and I don’t need much of it plus it is not sticky at all. I know that the little container isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but since I use it at home, my ‘fear' of an unsterile jar isn’t that big.

Marc Jacobs - Decadence Sensual Shower Gel
First things first: This shower gel is the most expensive item in my favorites category this time and honestly, I didn’t want to purchase this by myself because even I have a price limit when it comes to makeup or skincare (believe it or not). So last Christmas, where I also received the Marc Jacobs perfume in Decadence, was a great occasion to make ‚insolent’ wishes. When it comes to shower gels/creams that are highly perfumed I always fear that they will dry out my skin, which is not the case here. The gel has a strong scent (in a positive way) which fades a little when applied to your skin, but still lasts for hours. I would recommend using a neutral body milk/lotion afterwards so that you or the individuals around you are not overwhelmed by the scent.
Becca x Jaclyn Hill - Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Champagne Splits
I own one of four Champagne Splits, mine is the color Prosecco Pop/Pamplemousse. The idea of it is that you get one highlighter and one blush, something that I don’t use because of facial erythrosis, but nevertheless, I sometimes use it as an eyeshadow or in summer as blush if I am (fake-)tanned and wanna achieve a sunburned look. Pamplemousse is a coral pink and sort of matte, but still has a little shimmer to it. Prosecco Pop can be described as a medium warm gold, while Champagne Pop has a pink undertone in it and is more of a white gold. With the Splits you get 7.95 g of product. Unfortunately this is a limited edition but you can still get them at some Sephoras or online at Cult Beauty for example.
For April we are using the template of Sabina Hannan’s Smokey Silver Halo Eye Makeup Tutorial. I’ve haven’t had the best time recreating this look since I don’t own some of the key products e.g. for the halo effect but I’ve tried my best. For this look I also used my self-tanner since silver can look too ‘cold‘ on me because of my lighter skin tone. Overall I really had fun doing a recreation after a long time even if I don’t think that this look suits me!
This eye shadow palette isn’t just your average ordinary palette, nope, for me it is THE palette. It was also featured in my cravings 2016 but since it is just a little bit pricey, I wanted to take my time, read as many reviews as I could and see if I still want this precious thingy. After some time had passed and I made sure that I 100 % want and need (but, to be honest: who needs 16 eye shadow palettes?) I placed my order on Beautylish last year and haven’t regretted it for even a single minute.

Natasha Denona* provides a huge range of makeup products and is now also available at Sephora. If you like some colors but don’t want to splurge on the whole palette, you can get them individually. What you get in this palette are
four duo-chromes
nine mattes and
fifteen metallics

The shadows are highly concentrated, rich of pure pigments, contain a large quantity of real crushed pearls and are based on Mica°.
The texture of the eye shadows is buttery and easy to blend; they are water resistant, long lasting and provide full coverage. For the application I like to use a fluffy or not too flat brush to get the best results of the product. When I use the duo-chrome ones I apply the color with my fingers - Natasha recommended this method as well.
If you call a Z-palette your own, you can take your desired shade out of the ND one (but be very careful) and you can easily stick them back in the original palette. I compared the size of the shadows with other ones from different brand’s palettes and I could not find one with a shade more than 2 g (0.07 oz), where the size of the ND one is 2.5 g (0.008) each piece. So you get quite a lot of product.
I know that the first examples of her palettes included Parabens but they’ve changed the formula and people were irritated that Talc is listed as first ingredient on some shadows. That’s a fact that doesn’t bother me because if you look on the ingredients list of e.g. MAC’s, ABH’, Urban Decay’s eyeshadows Talc sometimes is listed first as well. Furthermore I’ve once read that due to the European law it needs to be listed first, if Talc is included because it can cause sensitivity. (I’ve searched on the website of the E.U. as well but could not find any information about that).

The swatches speak for themselves - the mattes don’t have that full-coverage pay-off you’d expect but I came for the metallics and duo-chromes and their color pay-off is amazing. I know that some people complained that there are no transition colors, but you can use cool plum 70P, satin skin 75P, golden rose 60M and piggy 80M instead. Depending on the look I want to achieve I use the matte blue tones for transition as well. Sure you have fall outs, especially when it comes to the metallics or duo-chromes.

Like I said: I am a big fan of this product even if I don’t use the matte shades often but I knew that beforehand. Would I recommend this palette? Yes, IF you are a makeup artist or a makeup junkie like I am. On the other hand: If you don’t use makeup on a regular basis or are not keen on experiments, you won’t be happy because the price will not pay off. The Purple Blue & the Green Brown palettes retail for $ 239 dollars, excluding shipping and possible customs charges, so if you break it down on each shadow it’s $ 8,43 a piece. A foiled eye shadow from Makeup Geek retails for $ 10.
When I look at all those new products beauty companies came up with lately, I get the feeling that March and April are going to be all about glowing and shimmering - on the face as well as on the eyes. I’ve picked my five products that I am excited for.

#1 Urban Decay - Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid
I’ve always been a fan of a pressed highlight because of my combination skin but since I was playing with my very old highlighter from So Susan Cosmetics I recognized that I enjoy this type of luminizer as well because I can dose the amount better and if I’ve used too much I can undo it by going over with whatever is left on my foundation brush. I’d love to try Skywalk (blue), Luminous (champagne with gold iridescent shimmer) and Fireball (peach) since I already own Aura in pressed form.

#2 Becca - Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed- Prismatic Amethyst (limited edition)
After using Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop I fell in love with Becca and purchased the Scintillant Embelliseur from their Skin Perfector Range, which I still haven’t used on a regular basis yet. So when I saw the swatches of their new baby it was clear to me that I need to get it asap, before it’s gone. It’s described as ‘a creamy, highlighting powder with duo-chrome pigments to impart a captivating light effect that transforms as you move […] Unlike traditional pressed powders, this one-of-a-kind formula blends pigments with liquids, to create an unparalleled, creamy feel that applies like seamless silk and never cakes.’

#3 Make Up For Ever - Star Lit Liquid
Due to my oily lids I have to be careful which formula eye products have; also a primer is a must for me. So I am always careful when choosing a liquid eye color. Since MUFE is one of my favorite makeup brands that have never disappointed me and Tati also recommended the liquids I wanna give them a try. Pro: if they don’t work on my eyes I can use them as a highlighter for the cheeks.

#4 stila - Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow
Before we’re leaving the highlighting and shimmer section I have one more glowing product to come. I saw Jaclyn using the gold color of the new liquid eye shadows from stila and I was very impressed because of the result. She applied it over a pressed eye shadow and it did not ruin her look or started crumbling, which happens often. In my case I would skip the decent colors and go for Violet Vixen or Rose Gold Retro.

#5 Coola - ER+ Calm Glow Eye Gel
Even if I adore my eye cream from Origins it doesn’t have the cooling effect that I sometimes need, especially when it’s hotter outside. A great alternative to this could be the glow eye gel from Coola, as I love their make-up setting spray (coming soon). According to the description it is lightweight, oil-free, soothing and suitable for sensitive skin too.
Whilst browsing through the Urban Decay Website two weeks ago this new eye shadow palette caught my attention and since I don’t own any similar colors (at least not in one palette) I did not hesitate adding it to my shopping bag.

The name says it all: The Afterdark Palette is created for going out ‘Late night, anything goes’, but of course you can use it for a day look as well. It includes ten metallic jewel-toned eye shadows - seven new and three ’classic’ shades and also a double-ended brush. On one side you get a precision brush to smudge and blend and on the other side there is a small shadow brush, perfect for applying color over the lid or in the crease, especially if your eyes are smaller or hooded.
I really like the packaging, first of all the almost holographic box it comes with and the compact is iridescent too. You also get a normal-sized mirror, which you can flip back or arrange it the way you want to.

There is no color that I don’t like, they are well-pigmented (they are featured with Urban Decay’s proprietary Pigment Infusion System™), have a great color pay-off and are long-lasting. All swatches are made without a base. Some colors may change their tone, depending on the light - I found that this is the case e.g. with Lounge. Reliant on the look I wanna go for I use Scene or Alter as a transition color or even as a highlighter for the inner corner. Sinful and Off Duty are perfect for a Smokey Bronzy Look.

I am really glad that I splurged on this palette since for me these colors are blendable, water-resistant and something I use every day since a Night-out doesn’t happen often to me. I can imagine taking this baby with me traveling because it includes subtle to more colorful/dark colors (at least for me). There sometimes is a litte bit of fall out but it never bothers me when it comes to eye shadow since I always do my eyes first, but I still wanted to mention it. The texture of the shadows is almost silky/velvety.

Lounge is a great dupe for Natasha Denonas Calypso Blue, with a bit more of the teal shimmer. Druggie is similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills Electro.
As far as I know the Urban Decay Afterdark eye shadow palette is a limited edition, retails for $ 49 and a Sephora exclusive item and currently out of stock, but you can still get it at Urban Decay UK, for example. Each eye shadow pan has a size of 1.7 g (0.006 oz).

My first makeup look out of two that I created with this palette will be up on Wednesday.
It's Wednesday, that means that it's time for another makeup look! Since my last ones were pretty intense I wanted to keep it simple this time - no heavy contouring, no false lashes, baking or what so ever. Honestly, my 'makeup day' wasn't the best and I struggled a little bit whilst creating this look, but moving on - here is the final result:
Today I dedicate myself to the Anastasia Beverly Hills "Moon Child" palette. It is a highlighter palette with six metallic powders that retails for $ 40.
The pictures I've seen on Twitter and Instagram were really outstanding, so I thought that the palette has to be great quality. I didn't want to buy it in the first place because it is made in China (and I'm not a huge fan about it), but since it is hard to find colorful highlighters in one palette, I gave in. The shades according to their description:

Blue Ice: diamond white with an icy blue reflect
Pink Heart: pearl white with a pink opal reflect
Star: moonstone fusion of mint, platinum and silver reflect
Lucky Clover: shamrock-infused gold with canary yellow diamond reflect
Purple Horseshoe: glittering lavender with an arctic blue reflect
Blue Moon: frozen blue with a silver reflect

Is the palette worth the hype? Unfortunately, in my opinion, it is not. I've had really high expectations which the product never met.
I've been playing around with it for weeks so I can really tell if a product works for me or not. The reason why I am not blown away by this palette is that if you're not constantly running around in sun light, or sitting in front of dimmed or ring lights (YouTubers) some colors will just look weird on me.
For example, I wore Blue Ice and my colleague didn't stop asking me why I am white above my cheekbones - it really looked just white, not icy at all and it did not give me a highlighter feeling. That's not exactly how I wanna look like, especially not at work.
But like I said: If you are outside or in dark light all the colors appear beautiful and give your look an extra oomph.

The quality is good, the highlighters itself go on smoothly, are blendable and can be used also with a damp brush or sponge. Furthermore you can use the palette as an eyeshadow, on your body and on your lips. It is cruelty-free as well.
Even if the quality is good I don't expect from a brand like Anastasia Beverly Hills that they produce in China (low-wage country plus cheap manufacturing costs) when they probably have laboratories in Italy and USA - don't nail me on that I am just guessing based on the "made in"-info from other products I own from this brand.

I am not so happy about the price, but that is a general issue I have with the ABH palettes. Most of their palettes (besides the new glow kits) retail for $ 40 but you don't get the exact same amount of product in their palettes.
Original contour kit: 6 pans á 3g = 18g = $ 2,22 each pan
That glow (glow kit): 4 pans á 7.4g = 29.6 g = $ 1,35 each pan
Moon Child: 6 pans á 4.2g = 25.2g = $ 1,59 each pan

So, you pay 40 bucks for their contour kit where you get 18g and you also pay $ 40 for a glow kit where you get 29.6g - that's not fair in my opinion.
*I don't wanna bash the brand nor their products it is just my honest opinion based on my experiences.

Today I wanna share my recreated look for Der blasse Schimmers and Shade of Natures "Nachgeschminkt"-Series. This time, it is inspired by the Purple & Green Smokey Eye from KillerColours. I've changed it up a little bit because I am more into medium-full coverage and since my hair are pretty dark I needed to add more warmness to my face. I like the combination of purple and green but with this intense lip color it is definitely not a look I would wear every day or to work. To make it work for me I either would put on a rosy color or a dark red lip stick like "Diva" by MAC instead of this aubergine lip shade.
Giorgio Armani "Luminous Silk Foundation"
I told you in my Cravings 2016 that the Armani Foundation is one I would like to spoil myself with. Some month later I went out and bought it, which wasn't that easy because I needed to find a place in Austria where I can get it, plus choosing a shade was complicated as well. I ended up purchasing # 5.5 - a shade perfect for medium skin (I self-tan, that's why I use a shade much darker than my natural skin color). It feels light-weight and provides a medium to full coverage if you build it up. Also, it is suitable for all skin types, oil-free and has a matte finish.

Essie Nail Lacquer in "madison ave-hue"
It's funny that I own a ton of nail polishes but I always end up using similar colors (peachy, pinks, blues or black). One of my favorite pinks is called "madison ave-hue" - I am glad that I've won it at a tombola because I am not quite sure if I would have bought it by myself. It contains glitter particles but in a decent way and like most of the Essie polishes this color lasts up to one week on your nails.

RCMA Makeup "No-color powder"
Baking has become an essential methode for me, especially for the area under my eyes because I have oily lids and every mascara that I use will smudge and you can call me "panda". With this setting powder none of these things will happen plus it doesn't dry my skin out like the Laura Mercier one which I still like but if you have dry skin I would not recommend it to you. Furthermore, the RCMA one is more affordable and I like the packaging here better because it can't break that easily.

Urban Decay – 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil & 24/7 Water Line Eye Pencil
Yeah, also this time Urban Decay is part of my monthly favorites because I am a fan of their new products. The first one is the 24/7 water line eye pencil in "Walk of Shame", a beigy color. Personally, I need to put something on my water line, because I always look like a ghost with nothing on it and white never suited me. (We all know: Black makes your eyes appear smaller & older; white brightens your eyes and creates the illusion that they are bigger). I am pretty happy with the beige version because it really lasts for hours and for me it looks more natural than applying a white liner to the water line.
The second eye liner in "Heartless" became one of my favorites because of its icy pink color that will make your eyes pop (inner corner!). I use it mostly on my lower lash line, most of the time on its own and sometimes I will just apply the liner in the middle over another color. Since it is Urban Decay, this liner is creamy, waterproof and easy to blend.
For this week's look I've decided to create something really outstanding using purple as my main color. This time, I am focusing on both, eyes and lips and of course, I am using a purple highlighter too. Since I've struggled with my new foundation palette it took me almost two hours to create this (normally not time-consuming) look but nevertheless I am really satisfied with the outcome.
Due to the fact that Norvina (the daughter of the founder of ABH Cosmetics) addressed the issue that many people said 'Veronica' and 'Trust Issues', both are liquid lipsticks, looked way too similar, she renewed the color of Trust Issues. I thought that's a great occasion to compare them side by side and also give you my thoughts on the newer version of Trust Issues including swatches, so you can make up your own mind.

Original Trust Issues: More like a rusty/brownish red
Renewed Trust Issues: Described as a dusty aubergine
Veronica: Described as a taupe mauve

In my opinion, Veronica and the previous color of Trust Issues don't look similar at all, even if they both are brownish - I can still see a big difference. I feared that the current one would look more like 'Potion' because now they are both aubergine colors but my worries were unfounded since Potion is way deeper and darker.

What has changed are both formulation and color in both products compared to other colors of the brand. I like that because I am not a huge fan of the original formulation since I got to try other brands' liquid lipsticks and now am able to tell a difference. The newer ones dry down better, don't take that long to settle and last longer while the original ones need way too long to dry down completely on my lips, even if I exfoliate and moisturize the hell out of them. Without these steps, liquid lipstick just will look patchy on me since I have dry lips which means that I probably should stick to a normal lipstick. Colorwise I like both versions, the old and the new one.
1. Urban Decay - Liquid Moondust Eyeshadow

These eyeshadows are the creamy liquid version of the pressed Moondust eyeshadows from Urban Decay. The liquids contain microfine bits of iridescent sparkle and 3-D metallics. I own way too many palettes which is why I skipped the pressed version and I am not quite sure if I would use all of these colors, so I prefer to buy my desired shades individually. Honestly, I am the stupid gal that would buy this compact only because of the star-shaped pans. It is definitely on the pricier side, but from a brand like Givenchy I expect nothing less. This little palette contains three eyeshadows which are very pigmented, but versatile. You can use the glittery silver (big star) as a highlighter or the matte pink coral as a blush or highlighter as well.
So I bought the Urban Decay Naked skin liquid foundation which isn't bad at all, but just not my go-to product because of its coverage. So, for this year's fall collection, UD finally came out with a foundation that has full coverage and provides a matte finish. Furthermore it's oil-free, lasts all night and because of the high pigmentation you don't need to build it up, according to their description.

4. Smashbox - Studio Skin 24 Hour Waterproof Concealer
Even if I don't wanna spend money on high-end concealers since I am fine with mine from the drugstore, a pricier alternative won't kill me and maybe provides the coverage of my life. This one from Smashbox is oil-free, waterproof, hydrating and lasts throughout a 24-hour shoot. It has a creamy formula, a medium to full coverage, is buildable, and light-diffusing. Since the company has their own photo studio and uses their products on the models I don't think that the concealer won't do his job.

5. Smashbox - Master Class Palette: Lighting Theory
While I own a ton of eyeshadow palettes, I don't have one that includes shadows, highlighters, blushes etc. You know, just all-in-one. That's where this guy comes in. For someone that doesn't contour, highlight or color correct on a daily base, I would not recommend this product, but since these steps are part of my daily makeup routine (except CC, but that will change soon), this palette would be perfect. When you are traveling or spending the night at a different place you don't need to carry around twenty different products with you, which we sometimes still do. It contains: 16 eye shadows (mattes and metallics), 3 blushes, 4 cream color correctors, 3 contouring creams, 3 cream highlighters and you also get the look insert, everything for a great price, in my opinion.
While I was playing around with makeup I recognized that I've never done a look with turquoise as a main component. So, of course, I changed that fact and created a turquoise eye look mixed with some gold and a glittery eyeliner.
Since finding the perfect self-tanning product is always a challenge, I wanna introduce you to the "Self Tan Express Kit" from St. Tropez. This company has been my go to label for years regarding fake tan. I've also tried spray tanning but due to my lighter skin tone it doesn't last as long as I wish it would. Furthermore, because I go tanning on a regular base it would be pretty expensive because it costs around € 43 (here in Vienna) including the required exfoliator and if I’m honest, I don't wanna run around without makeup (in the city) even if you are told to do so. I loved the result but for me, it's just not worth the money and effort.
But now, I am gonna stop rambling and focus on the kit.

What you get in here:
Tan Enhancing body polish 75 ml | 2.53 fl oz US
Tan Enhancing boy moisturiser 75 ml | 2.53 fl oz US
Self Tan Express Bronzing Mousse 50 ml | 1.69 fl oz US
Tan Applicator Mitt

I bought mine at Sephora and I think there are two or three different types, so the third product does vary. I was only familiar with the original bronzing mousse, so I thought the kit was just a great and more affordable opportunity to try the other stuff.

Please keep in mind: if your skin has a lighter tone you can't expect miracles like looking like you've spent weeks on the Bahamas. That won't be the case because your skin won't absorb the product as much as it does on medium skin tones f.e., especially if you get sunburned easily.

Tan Enhancing body polish & Tan Enhancing body moisturiser
What both products should do is ensure an even, streak-free color, improve fading and reduce tan break-up. Depending on the areas - my legs and my neck are literally bastards when it comes to tanning - the result lasts me up to seven days, no matter if I moisturize each day. That being said, I personally wouldn't buy the moisturiser or the polish individually because I neither get a better or worser result like I can achieve with other (cheaper) products. Both are around $ 18 and contain 200 ml | 6.7 fl oz.

Self Tan Express Bronzing Mousse
Since we don't have time to wait hours for tanning products to fully activate their effect, there also exists an express version. You can achieve three different results: one hour: light; two hours: medium and three hours - yeah, you've guessed it right - dark. The first time I used this product I rinsed it off after one hour and I got a nice, sun-kissed tan, but since I am always 'extra' I apply my self-tanner before I am heading to bed, even if it's not recommended to do so. I like to use the express mousse for my face, neck and décolleté. The first and the third area are getting dark after one application, but for my neck, I need two applications to achieve a darker tan. I use the original self-tan mousse for the rest of my face and I always use the mitt that comes with the kit because if you have ever tried applying a self-tanning mousse with your bare hands, I am sure you have learned your lessons like I did. So, with $ 44 the express bronzing mousse ain't a bargain but in my opinion worth every penny!

Nevertheless, please keep in mind that what may not work for me can work for you. So, if you are new to self-tanning or ain't familiar with St. Tropez I would highly recommend purchasing this kit because for $ 27 you cannot go wrong. The sizes of their samples are reasonable and it's not like you've used half of the product after one application.
During summer time I am not keen on wearing/creating bold or fancy eye looks because, let's get real ... most of the time I am wearing sun glasses so I'll go for a more "natural" look (at least my interpretation of it) and focus on the lips. This time, I've created a more bronzy look on the eye and a really bold one on the lips.
Urban Decay – Afterglow 8-hour powder highlighter
At first, I have to say that I am a sucker for packaging and I am keen on this compact. You can see the actual color of the product throughout the fishnet cutout “UD” on the lid and on the back as well. “Aura” is an icy pink with blue undertones and looks beautiful on fair skin but I like it even more when I am tanned. The highlighter blends in easily into the skin, has a smooth texture and is buildable (great if you’re heavy handed) & wore more than eight hours on me.

Origins – Zero oil
This cleanser is great for combination to
oily skin without drying our already dry spots out. In the past “Checks
and balances” was my go to cleanser but it dried my skin out so I
switched to other products. “Zero oil” contains Salicylic Acid, cooling
mint and saw palmetto reduce shine but however my skin feels refreshed
yet not dry.

Huda Beauty Lashes
Since I use false lashes on a daily base I stocked up on lashes from Huda Beauty because I made great experiences with her products in the past. She offers a wide range from natural to dramatic styles and they are also cruelty-free. I take care of every pair so that they last me approximately ten to twelve times. What I like about her false lashes the most is that I don’t struggle with the application as I did with other brands. They don’t call her “´Queen of Lashes” for no reason ;-)

Urban Decay – Beached bronzer
Another product from the Urban
Decay Summer collection 2016 I adore is their bronzer. The packaging is
as cool as the bronzer one’s and here you also get a compact mirror. I
wish they would have come out with more than two shades. I chose
“bronzed” which is a warmer toned bronzer so not exactly the best choice
when your skin has a cooler undertone like mine. I use it as a contour
shade or mix it with my Too Faced “Pink leopard blushing bronzer” – that
way it works best for me. It’s great for people who like a matte
finish.

L’Oréal Paris – Nude Magique Cushion
I am a fan of medium to full coverage, so the term “nude” scared the hell out of me, but since I don’t wear makeup on weekends (when I am at home) or don’t want to wear an expensive foundation just for running errands, I decided to give the “Nude Magique Cushion” a try and I wasn’t disappointed at all. With one tap you get a dewy glow and you can build it to an almost medium coverage plus it’s portable and from the drugstore. I apply the foundation with a brush, but the sponge that comes with the product works as well, especially when you’re on the move.
Every year there are a few products I’d like to spoil myself with. Today I will show you my list for 2016 based on recommendations, ravings from other bloggers/my favorite YouTubers or just because I am curious about it.

1. Natasha Denona – Eyeshadow Palette 28 – Purple Blue
Well, $ 239 for this palette may sound ridiculous but if you do the math it is approximately $ 8,5 for each eyeshadow, where an individual shadow from ND costs you $ 27. I really am into purples and metallic shades and when I saw swatches of these shadows I was blown away by their pigmentation. That’s why I needed to have this item and luckily there are just three or four shades that don’t seem to be my cup of tea.

2. Artis Brush - Elite Smoke Collection Brush
I have to admit that those brushes look like you can use them for cleaning your shoes, but it is just an alternative way for applying makeup. The ones by Mac didn’t receive a good review and their Oval 6 is just too small for my needs, so I am saving my money for the Oval 8 or 10 by Artis. The Oval 10 one is made with 250.000 supremely soft CosmeFibre® filaments. With normal face brushes you tend to use more product but that shouldn’t be the case with these ones. The Artis Brushes are suitable for sensitive skin - you can apply powder or liquid with them.

3. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
What’s missing in Foundation graveyard is a product from Giorgio Armani and I’ve heard really good stuff about his Luminous Silk Foundation because it’s lightweight and provides a dewy finish and doesn’t settle in fine lines which is important for me because I have a distinctive smile line where makeup always sets. The only downside I suspect is that choosing the right shade won’t be that easy.

4. Oud Perfume
When it comes to perfume I am very picky and more of a person who likes fresh or oriental scents but one smell that always gets me is Oud. Everytime I am visiting Dubai and entering a shopping center it always hits me because of its intense fragrance which I adore. Since Oud isn’t that cheap it is definitely something you will only buy if you have some extra money left. I showed you my candle with Oud scent here.
It’s funny that though I am not a huge fan of liquid lipsticks I keep repurchasing them. So when Anastasia Beverly Hills launched her new Spring Collection I had to try a few of them – especially Rio, which is a hot pink and remembers me of “Candy Yum Yum” from Mac only a tad more intense. Since I’m not keen on nudes I skipped the majority and concentrated on Rio, Soft Lilac, Kathryn and Catnip – Madison is also a bold magenta but I did not want to go overboard with my order because I also bought eyeshadows and stocked up my brow definers.

Shipping ($ 18) went really fast because I received my purchase within approximately four days with UPS but that’s just a side note. Below you will find swatches and how these lipsticks look on my lips. Compared to their older ones I am 100 % sure that they’ve changed the formula because the newer ones dry down faster which you can see in the picture below as I compared Milk Shake and Sweet Talker with the Spring collection. When I applied them I started with Sweet Talker and Milk Shake, Kathryn was last and you can see that their new shades are already dried down while the other ones are still wet, especially Milk Shake. As always ABH liquid lipsticks provide full coverage, a matte finish and a great pigmentation!

But don’t get carried away: it is still a liquid lipstick, so it will make your lips dry – a lip scrub and a good moisturizer are a must before you apply those – and when you eat (the color survived a sandwich but not a pizza) it will fade away and you will get the butthole mouth, so keep that in mind. Next to the typical downsides of liquid lippies I absolute adore their colors for Spring and their new formular.
After three years my blog needed a new appearance because I couldn’t stand
the old one anymore. So I hope you like the new design … it’s fresher and not as
overloaded as the old one - something that was really important for me. But now
let’s jump into my beauty favorites of March which mostly regard the face area
and which I used on a daily basis but that’s not hard to tell from the dirty
products on the picture. Happy weekend for you guys!
Beautyblender

Yes, I know, this beauty tool is around for ages but I was never convinced
that a beautyblender would change my makeup routine but truth to be told: it
did! To apply my foundation I still use brushes because it doesn’t take as long
as it would with the blender. This little spongy egg is perfect for applying
cream contour products, concealer, to set powder in my under eye area … you just
get a great and flawless result because it takes away the access. I am really
glad that I gave it a go!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Definer

Eyebrows matter to me! I would rather skip bronzer or lipstick (even if I
can’t live without it) than not filling in my brows. I prefer a thicker line due
to my heart-shaped face to balance this out. Therefore I’ve tried many products
but nothing has beaten the ABH Brow Wiz or their Brow Definer. Since I’ve
discovered the last one it became my ride or die product because it has a
triangular tip which makes filling in easier and more timesaving. The only
downside I experienced was that my two first ones wouldn’t allow me to retract
the pencil even though there is still enough of the product left. I already
ordered new ones, so let’s see if it’s going to happen again. If you have thin
brows I would recommend the Brow Wiz for you rather than the Definer.

Smashbox – Step-By-Step Contour Stick Trio

I have to admit when the whole contouring/highlighting trend showed up again
last year, I wasn’t a huge fan of it because it is time consuming if you take
all the steps everyday, but what can I say? I got hooked up on it. This trio by
Smashbox is just great because you get three sticks, one for highlighting, one
for bronzing and one for contouring. It also includes a (free) sharpener and an
insert with how-to’s for all face shapes. You can use them dry or wet, depending
on the look you’re aiming for. The formula is very creamy and glides on smoothly
and blends in very well. If you really use them on a daily basis you will
probably be through with them soon because they are too creamy and need to be
resharpened often. That’s the only con I have to mention.

Origins – VitaZing SPF 15 Energy-boosting moisturizer with Mangosteen
If you’ve read my Favorites of 2015 post you know that I am a big fan of the
Origins VitaZing eye cream and after I received a sample of their tinted
moisturizer, I got also drawn to it. My skin isn’t all too happy with the latest
weather change so applying foundation during the last couple of weeks wasn’t
exactly easy-peasy. Especially because my cheeks decided not to be dry anymore.
The Origin one is a great light-weight moisturizer that provides my skin with
the right amount of moisturizer.

Make Up For Ever – Pro Sculpting Duo

Last month I stocked up my contouring and highlighting products; a great one
is the MUFE Pro Sculpting Duo which comes in a little compact - great for
travelling! I am using the shade “01 Pink Beige” for fair to medium skin. If you
are familiar with MUFE you know their gel-powder formula that blends in easily.
The highlighter has a pink shimmer tone but not too intrusive and even a
beginner can’t go wrong with the contour shade because it is buildable and
doesn’t look orange or too dark.
So because two products were true friends during my journey (not only because of that) they are mentioned in my January favorites, so let’s just have a look.

1. This one is a little funny for me because I rarely talk about hair stuff, but “BIG” by Lush did a great job. My hair just looked tired, had no volume and weren’t so fluffy as usual. Since I own so many shampoos (thanks Glossybox!) I always use a different one but none of them had helped me, until I brought BIG back in the game, now my fluffy and shiny hair are back.

2. Let’s talk for real: For a non-makeup-artist I own enough makeup,
more than the average woman and I am not done with experimenting and
trying new products, but since I discovered that I am more into palettes
than individual eyeshadows I stopped purchasing them. But I received
one Maybelline Color Tattoo at a workshop and got sold on it. Sometimes I
use it on its own (when I am lazy or don’t have much time) or as a
base. On my way to Mauritius I wore it as a base and like the eyeliner:
it lasts more than 24 hours, it doesn’t crease or anything like that
plus it is easy to remove. I will definitely buy another one if I had
ran out of this one!

3. I was very busy the last four month and time was one
thing that I didn’t have, so I had to shorten my night routine. That
being said I was glad to be introduced to the Clean Energy Gentle
cleansing oil by Origins. I just take a few drops, massage it into my
face, add some water to get a milky consistence and then I take it off
with a cleansing cloth. At first I was sceptical but it really erases
all of my makeup and it maintains my skin, furthermore since it is oil I
don’t need a heavy moisturizer for my dry areas afterwards. I didn’t
experienced any break outs or greasiness.

4. I am in love with this product since years but they’ve sadly discontinued it in Austria, you can imagine how lucky I was when I’ve found the Bourjois eyeliner at Asos! It says that the eyeliner lasts up to 16 hours but as I’ve already mentioned in my intro it lasted me more than that, apparently 27 hours until I washed it off. It didn’t move, crumbled or anything else. Hands down my go-to-liquid eyeliner by far.

5. I’ve said it a hundred times, but obviously the fact that I am a lazy
gal when it comes to moisturize my body after showering doesn’t change.
However, since it is Winter I always try to improve myself in
scribbling in the colder month and a nice smelling body butter can
always help. Honestly, I think the L:A Bruket body butter is more like a whipped cream than a
body butter but the rose scent is adorable and I like this moisturized
and fresh feeling it gives plus you don’t need a ton of it and it
doesn’t feel heavy on your skin. Some body treatments are too rich for
me, even in Winter so that I begin so sweat, but gladly that’s not the
case here.

Today I will present you some beauty stuff that is new on the market and I am keen on. As always I will give you my opinion on these products instead of just showing you a picture. I hope you have a great day!

1. Glowwise Anastasia Beverly Hills has brought something new in the game: The Glow
Kits! Available in “Gleam” and “That Glow”. The first one is rosy with softer
highlights, while the second one is bolder and features deep bronze shades. All
of them are metallic powder highlighters for an intense luminosity. I already
ordered my kit and can’t wait until my package arrives at my door.

2. Nope, we are not done with the lips yet, because MAC Cometics just launched
their version of liquid lipsticks: The Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour! I’ve heard
mixed reviews about them, but nevermind I already ordered one of them, in
“Recollection” which is an intense bright violet. You can get these lipcolours
in fifteen shades from nude to very bold.

3. Smashbox Studios celebrates its 25 birthday, therefore Smashbox created a lip
palette that includes 25 lipsticks of their bestselling Be Legendary Lipstick
(that I absolutely adore!) in creamy and matte shades. The colors in this
palette are one thing: bold! There are a few neutral shades but most of them are
just awesome bright. Furthermore this lip palette comes with a pro lip brush and
the Smashbox Studios magazine insert. Limited edition!

4. Yep, another product by ABH Cosmetics … the Brow definer! Since I cannot live
without their brow wiz, I just want to try out their new definer, which has a
triangular tip that can be used in three different ways – to outline and fill in
the brows. This type of tip should give you more control to create a natural
appearance, it’s also provided with a smooth, creamy formula and comes in ten
shades.

5. While I am not sure what I should think of their new Ultra HD Invisible Cover
Foundation because I loved their old formula so much, I am keen on trying the
new Make Up For Ever UltraHD concealer Invisible Cover Concealer because every
beauty guru I know is raving about it. The only thing is that you should be
careful if you are heavy handed because if you use too much it can look cackey
because the consistence is thick. It guarantees invisible, natural and
comfortable makeup, and has an easy-blend and long-wearing formula. MUFE offers
a wide range of colors to color correct or to conceal and the concealer itself
provides medium coverage.
